Futurelab Open Access Policy
This is the summary of Futurelab's Open Access Licence, which encourages circulation of our work under certain copyright conditions. Please note that, by downloading or reproducing our publications, you are confirming that you have read and accepted the terms of the full licence.
This Open Access Policy allows anyone to access our text content (where we have copyright - please note the exceptions listed below) electronically without charge, as long as certain conditions are met. Users are welcome to download, save, perform or distribute this work electronically or in any other format, including in foreign language translation, without written permission subject to the conditions set out in the Futurelab Open Access Licence, some of which are as follows:
- The material cannot be used for commercial gain including professional, political or promotional uses or for any financial gain.
- The material must be used in full and without alterations or amendments.
- Futurelab and the authors must be acknowledged (with the Futurelab logo - see press page for download details) as the original source of the material and the relevant Futurelab webpage (where the material can be found) must be given in a prominent position. It should also acknowledge that its use is subject to the terms of this licence.
- Only text is covered by this licence - no pictures, images, diagrams, moving images, sound, video, downloads of prototypes or software is to be used.
- No more than 500 copies of any one piece of work may be reproduced.
- You must advise Futurelab of where and when the work will be reproduced - please send an e-mail to info@futurelab.org.uk.

You are welcome to ask for permission to use Futurelab's work for purposes other than those covered by our Open Access Licence. To do this, please send your request (outlining the conditions that will not be met) to:

Exceptions
The following work is NOT included under the Futurelab Open Access Licence:
- All papers written by Futurelab staff for external publication (ie all publications listed on the 'other publications' page in the research section)
- All external projects featured in the showcase section (ie all articles listed on the 'other projects' page, as opposed to the ones listed on the 'Futurelab projects' page)
- All copies of external speakers' PowerPoint presentations featured in the events section
- VISION issue 2 article: 'An interactive education'
