Innovative practice: Multikulti
The Lasa Multikulti project uses software called Pangloss, which allows for semantically-equal terms in any language and of any character set to be stored and served. The translations produced have both consistent terminology, and terminology localised to match a particular community. The Multikulti website is a WAI accessible unicode site that provides advice and information on topics such as welfare benefits and housing in ten community languages, including Arabic and Gujerati.
